should I have two different versions of 1password due to using two different OS?

Other apps I run typically have the same version number across the different OS

Yes, this is currently correct. 1Password 7.2 shipped with a new requirement in order to use its browser extension with Safari. So we've done a slow roll-out of the availability of 1Password 7.2 to older operating systems in order to give those users time to update to Safari 12. The release of 1Password 7.2+ to 10.13 users is going well so we'll probably remove the limitation on the updates for 10.12.6 soon. You can always manually install from https://1password.com/downloads/mac if you already have Safari 12 installed.
