Numerous Problems

I purchased a standalone license years ago. Currently, I'm using 1password 6.
I use two browsers: Firefox and Safari.
The Safari extension has ceased to function. I'd been using it for years but now apparently it is only offered for 1password 7 users???
The Firefox addon doesn't even install even though its being downloaded from your site.

This morning I noticed in my desktop app that my account was frozen. I don't remember ever having an account.
I clicked it and discovered that after I input my license key and password I could then install a Firefox addon from the browser's library. But this is not what I want. I don't want an account. I want to use the software as I intended originally, as it worked before.
My vaults are synced with Dropbox.

How can the browser plugins work without the use of a 1password account?
I originally purchased on Feb 1, 2013 and have the order number if needed.

1Password Version: 6.8.9

@rodfin: Thanks for reaching out. I’m sorry for the confusion! With the release of Safari 12, Apple has moved to Safari App Extensions, and we developed 1Password 7.2 in order to support that last autumn. The old (.safariextz) extensions are only available through their gallery, which they've said will be shut down any day now:

    https://safari-extensions.apple.com/details/?id=com.agilebits.onepassword4-safari-2BUA8C4S2C

Once that is gone, you won't be able to use Safari and 1Password going forward without upgrading to the latest version of both, so you'd either need to do that or use a different supported browser.

The Firefox addon doesn't even install even though its being downloaded from your site.

Can you elaborate? Myself and others don't seem to be having trouble downloading, installing, and using it. Are you maybe using an outdated version of Firefox? Let me know the exact version, and the error you're encountering.

You'd only have an account by signing up for a 1Password membership. That's the only way you’ll have a Secret Key or Sign In URL, get all the apps and updates included, be able to access your data through 1Password.com, or access your data on each device just by signing in, rather than configuring sync everywhere for each vault, etc.

How can the browser plugins work without the use of a 1password account?

You'd need to use 1Password without an account and sync your data from another device or create a new vault, registering the app with a license for the appropriate version. If you're signed into an account, and don't want to use that, simply sign out and you should be good to go.

I hope this helps. Be sure to let me know if you have any other questions! :)
