What is the large type feature you mention when a bank requests certain characters from your password

1Password Version: 6.8.9
Extension Version: 12.11
OS Version: OS Mojave
Sync Type: Not Provided
Referrer: forum-search:Some banks and financial websites request say 3 characters form your password like the 3rd, 8th & 11th character. Would it be possible to 'reveal' your password in numbered boxes, so that it is easier to see which is the 5th, 7th & 3rd character?

If you hover your cursor over a password field on a Login item you'll see a copy button and a down arrow to the right of the password field. When you click on the down arrow you'll be given a couple of options, including "show in large type." This can be helpful in cases where you need to manually enter a password or a portion of a password.

Also, for what it's worth, I noticed you're still on 1Password 6 for Mac, which has been retired for over a year now. That version is no longer receiving updates. You may want to consider an upgrade to 1Password 7, which is discussed in detail here:

    1Password 7 for Mac: The Best Ever | 1Password

We can't recommend using an older version. As a security focused company we'd always recommend running the latest versions of all of your software, but especially your operating system, web browser(s), and 1Password. I hope that helps. Should you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.

    Hi Ben,
Have tried what you recommend, but l don't see a copy button and down arrow to the right also l tried to down load 1Password 7 for mac but when l open it it doesn't want to install

  • Could you please clarify what sort of difficulty you're having when trying to upgrade to 1Password 7? What happens when you try to install it?

    Ben
