moving from 1password v4 to families

hi I have a standalone 1password v4.6.2.626 and I'd like to move to 1Password for families for a couple of reasons

  1. allow my parents to use this tool
  2. my current 1password is not synching all logins with iOS (bug or feature??)
  3. 1Password google chrome extension no longer works

Q: is there a step-by-step instruction how to move from 1password v4 to 1password families and still retain all my logins? Will this fix my iOS synching issue?

thanks and keep up the good work!

OS Version: windows10

    Hi @naza

The first step would be to sign up for 1Password membership:

And then to install 1Password 7. It will handle the migration for you, but step-by-step instructions can be found here:

Move your existing 1Password data to a 1Password account

Once complete one important thing that could probably be better highlighted in the guide is making sure there is no longer a vault called "Primary" on any of your devices.

Will this fix my iOS synching issue?

I would imagine that would work around whatever that issue is entirely, as 1Password membership is its own sync service — you wouldn't be relying on Dropbox to sync your 1Password data anymore.
