App crashes immediately after install of 10.15.3. Tried various ways to strip it off the system. Now the app launches and I choose 1password.com and it still remembers my vault. As soon as its selected, immediate crash. Not sure what else I can do to get every fragment. Crash reports provided.

same issue here also (error "1Password 7 can\U2019t be opened" "\U201C1Password 7\U201D is damaged and can't be opened. Delete \U201C1Password 7\U201D and download it again from the App Store"

    Same here. Fix?

I've continued my diagnostics and have not gotten any further. I found files left behind after using appCleaner to remove 1Password, but they did not impact the crashing. When I'm setting up a clean install, I choose 1Password.com and click on the existing account (clearly I didn't get everything if it recalls my account) and immediate crash. I try again by setting up a new account and enter my information manually. I get the username and email in no problem. I can enter my private key. No problem. The moment anything brings me into the master password field, immediate crash.

My next attempt was to download the 10.15.3 combo update and install that in case the delta update caused issues.

Same issue for me, as well. Anxiously awaiting a fix.

Installed the combo update with no change. Was going to try to remove and reinstall 1P again now, but not expecting any improvement.

Has anyone from Agile Bits acknowledged there seems to be an issue here?

Not yet. I don't have the option to use twitter and I didn't think email was going to be any better -- so this is the only way I've reported the issue so far.

Submitted another crash reporting referencing this thread.

    My most recent crash:
    Exception Type: SIGBUS
    Exception Codes: BUS_ADRERR at 0x7fff319d2bb4
    Crashed Thread: 0

Is the common thread that everyone in this thread is using 1Password.com for the vault?

Just tested and confirmed that this problem EXISTS in 7.4.2 Beta 3 ...so clearly this is a new issue not seen before.

I too am having this same problem. Updated Mac to 10.15.3 and boom, 1 Password crashes upon launch. Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (Code Signature Invalid).

I'm experiencing this issue as well after the 10.15.3 update. Currently using 1Password X in a browser as a workaround, but the 1Password Mac is pretty integrated in my workflow. Bummer.

Won't open... Gives crash report and says 1Password is corrupt and to reinstall. Did that but no luck.

I'm also seeing this issue after upgrading from 10.15.2 to 10.15.3.

  • Hi folks,

We've seen a pretty good handful of reports of this. Could you please try rebooting and let me know what the results of that are?

    Thanks!

I rebooted. 1Password 7 still crashes when launched.

  • Thanks @dhemery. We're continuing to monitor this issue and hope to have more to report soon.

I've rebooted many, many times throughout the process of remove, reinstall, repatch ...this issue survives rebooting. @Ben

  • Thank you for the information @BHertziger.

@Ben Anything that you'd like me to look at, try or provide to help with the troubleshooting on your side?

  • @BHertziger

I'm working on getting further information from development about what information they need to track this down. I'll update this thread when I know more.

  • @BHertziger,

Do you happen to also have Sentinel One installed?

I also have Sentinel One installed.

  • If you look in these two locations:

    • ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports
    • /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports

Do you see any files related to 1Password (or "onepassword")? If so please send those to us at support+forum@1password.com and then post the support ID you receive back from BitBot here.

At this point it appears this is a bug in SentinelOne, and the workaround will be to whitelist 1Password. It appears 1Password is not the only software affected by this bug, e.g.:
    https://scrivener.tenderapp.com/help/kb/macos-troubleshooting/known-issues-2#crash-on-launch-with-codesigning-error

    Thanks!

@Ben I've completed the above and received this ID: [#DFT-94637-691].

Also, I am trying to determine the version of SentinalOne and this is the package I think it installed from (IT managed, of course): sentinelone_mac-3.0.4.2657

Update: The SentinelAgent.app lists as 3.4.2 as well as the sentineld

I'm having the same issue. I tried uninstalling it and installed again but I'm still getting the crash.

I sent the logs to the support email and here's the support ID:

    [#CAP-61848-367]

    Any help is welcome.

  • @BHertziger,

Its quite possible that that may be the latest version, their website doesn't make it easy to find that out. Given that they're injecting their code in any/all running processes on the system it doesn't surprise me that applications with the hardened runtime turned on are crashing.

The only options would be to update SentinelOne to a version that doesn't do what its currently doing, or whitelist the 1Password application.
