The manual update worked on one of our Macs but not on the others. The computer goes through the process of updating the program but the information in 1Password all shows up as read-only and the Safari extensions do not work. We have a license for 1Password 7

1Password Version: 7.4.3
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: 10.15.4
Sync Type: Dropbox

After completing Step 8, can you try rebooting once more?

Actually, I noticed that you posted a second comment in a separate discussion, so I have merged both of them to keep all the conversation going in one place. Your second message describes a different issue than the one my colleague Ben worked on: if your 1Password app is in read only mode, what you are seeing is not an extension issue, it's a licensing problem.

1Password 7 is a paid upgrade, and it requires either a 1Password Membership, or a 1Password license to work. If you have a Membership, make sure that your account is added inside the 1Password app. If you have a license instead, make sure that the license is correctly applied to the app.

Thanks for the reply. We have a license for 1Password7, effective Oct, 2019. When I open 1Password7 on my laptop or iMac, where am I suppose to be sure the license is correctly applied? I was not having this problem until I used the 7.4.3 update; it only started after the update. One of our Macs seems OK but the others in our household are having this problem.

Can you tell me the current version/store you have installed? The easiest way to find your version/store is the first step here. https://support.1password.com/update-1password/

If by chance, you are using the Mac App Store version, it does not support licenses. You will need to move to the website version, which does support licenses. https://support.1password.com/switch-from-mac-app-store/
I suspect you may have accidentally updated to the Mac App Store version on some of the Machines. If so, I suggest hiding the purchase in the Mac App Store to help prevent it from offering updates. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201322

Please let us know what you find.

Indeed, when I checked my version, it showed the Mac Store version. I followed your steps to hide the Mac version and re-install 1Password7, which shows as the 1Password Store version. I haven't fully tested this version but did note that the extension does not seem to be responsive. I will try this on my laptop as well and let you know if I am still having a problem, Do I need to restart?

You may need to restart to resolve any connection issues with the extension:

On my laptop, at least, restart appears to have enabled the extension. Thank you for the help!
