    Maybe having the option to mask it will be a great feature, thanks!

  • Thanks for the suggestion @TGP. :) We generally stay way from this sort of thing because it can be "security theater" — providing the illusion of security where none exists. Usernames are identifiers, and as such are not intended to be secret. We wrote a blog post all about why expecting identifiers to be secret is a problem in response to the Equifax breach:

    We'll continue to evaluate how usernames are utilized by services and if the landscape shifts we can take another look, but at this point I don't think concealing usernames would provide a real security benefit.
