Master Password required to be entered every 2 weeks on PC/Mac, but not on iOS/Android devices?

Hi, on my Mac I am required to re-enter my master password on a recurring basis, anywhere from 1 hour to 2 weeks, depending on my selection. I can't understand why 1Password does not allow this to be 'Forever' - or at the minimum every 2 months. On iOS or Android devices (at least, the ones I have with bio-metric capabilities), I can always use Touch ID or Face ID, with no requirement to enter my master password every 2 weeks. I don't understand how that's any different from a PC/Mac. MacBooks have Touch ID... why is 1Password deeming my phone/tablets more secure than my laptop? All this does is 1) prevent users from using the most complex master password possible 2) become a 2 week annoyance. And what's the reason for choosing 2 weeks? If we're arbitrarily choosing, why not 90 days as an option as well? This is my only complaint with 1Password - everything else is fantastic - but this setting is ridiculous. It's right up there with forced password expiry.

  • Hi @jamieloaldff

The 2 week maximum interval on Mac is probably a good balance between convenience and not forgetting your Master Password. I'll see if the team is open to further discussion on this point though — I do agree we should be consistent. Thank you for letting us know this is something you'd we interested in. 👍
