Update/Install Issues

Been running 1Password on Windows 10 for 2 years with no issues. In the latest 1Password update, the following error message kept coming up: “1Password was unable to complete installation and will roll back any changes”. Same issue if I forced it to check for updates. Uninstalled the program and tried to reinstall, using the most recent version available on the 1Password website. Exact same error message during the install process, so no 1Password now. Our IT support checked to see if our antivirus was blocking it, but it is not.

  • What anti-virus are you running, @w0l0r? Malwarebytes, by chance? If so, try updating Malwarebytes manually, then reboot and try 1Password again. They corrected an issue with 1Password a while back, but the update to Malwarebytes needed to be initiated manually so some folks missed that update at the time it was released.

If you don't use Malwarebytes, could you grab the latest setup logs and send them over to support+windows@1password.com? You'll find them in %LOCALAPPDATA%\1Password\logs/setup. Thanks!
