Why am I constantly being asked to INSTALL the Firefox extension over and over again?

I'm using 7.6 of 1Password and FF 79.0 (64-bit) both of which are up-to-date. I see the 1Password icon in the FF toolbar at the top of my browser window. Why this constant "tennis match" going back and forth????

    Hi @petecrosta! Welcome to the forum!

    From the 1Password version information that you wrote in your first post, this is because you installed the 1Password X browser extension in Firefox. This extension does not communicate with the desktop app and works entirely in the browser. For what you are trying to do, please make sure you download the companion browser extension instead :+1:
