Bug: leaving an edit window open renders 1Password in a "half locked" state.

To reproduce:

  • make a new item, and leave the edit panel open (don't save)

  • wait until 1Password times out and locks

  • 1Password is now semi-locked, you can view any item you want, but no changes are saved, and the lock button fails to work

  • force quit to resolve.

Without thinking I just lost some data to this one, so it would be great if it could be fixed.

    Hi, @whale. Thanks for the report.

    It sounds like you've encountered this bug, mentioned in Known Issues):

    • If you leave the app with changes made and it is not saved, it may not be possible to save it after the app auto-locks and you close or quit the app. It'll prompt you about unsaved changes and ask if you'd like to save but once you press Save, it'll then prompt an error saying it cannot because of a locked profile.

    It's better behaved with Lock when main window is closed disabled (unchecked) under Preferences > Security, like @rcork mentioned in a related post. Hopefully that's helpful for you until this is resolved. Thanks!
