Respect port numbers in URLs

Hi,

as a developer, I have lots of different applications with different logins running on few hosts. They differ in URL after the host part, and they usually also differ by port number. I also connect to various applications through ssh tunnels, in which case all URLs are localhost and some unique port number.

1password currently doesn't respect that port number when it tries to match the corresponding login. Is this a bug, a feature, a missing feature, or am I myself missing something?

Thanks
Maik

    Hi @maikm‌

Thanks for taking the time to write to us about this. I don't believe we'd call this a 'bug' as that would imply that it is supposed to function in that way and under some or all circumstances does not. That doesn't appear to be the case here. As far as I can tell 1Password 4 for Mac has never made a distinction between logins based on port number or protocol (e.x. http vs https).

I can certainly see how this could be a useful feature though, especially for web developers, and will be sure to pass the feedback along to our development team.

    Thanks!

    Ben

I'd like to bump this again. Now that 1Password can distinguish subdomains, which is a big leap in the right direction, port numbers would be the next logical thing to do. At least when there are several matching entries for a given URL, but only one of them matches the port number, it should not be necessary to select the right one manually in the 1pw helper.

Thanks for the feedback! I'm not sure if/when we'll do this, but I will definitely make sure our developers know you're interested in it! :)
