tags vs categories

Have searched through discussion threads as well as tutorials, cannot find answer:
I have tags assigned to various log-ons. I want to move an item (a bank entry) into category "bank" how do I move it? Do I have to retype all the information again into "Banks" or is there a way to copy/move/whatever from tag "financial" to category "Bank"???

You can't move items from one category to another: that's the fundamental point. I'm not clear what category your "bank" item is currently in but if it's not in the Bank Accounts category, but in another category, you can't move it to the Bank Accounts category. (The reason you can't currently move items between categories is that categories are designed to follow a format, and use fields, specific to each category.)

Tags are independent of categories. You can add or delete tags to or from an item as you wish.

If this doesn't help and there's still a problem, or something that isn't clear, do please post back.
