Yosemite is here, and so is 1Password 5 for Mac!

We have a brand new FAQ with Mac-specific information in our new 1Password 5 for Mac Knowledgebase: iCloud FAQ.

If you use the Mac App Store version of 1Password, go ahead and update to Yosemite and 1Password 5. The new iCloud sync will kick in automatically.

If you use the web store version of 1Password, you'll also want to read the Web store and iCloud FAQ.

Do you use iCloud with 1Password? Are you as excited as we are to jump on the newest operating systems from Apple? Don't let us get in your way—but before you hit that "Updates" tab, please take a few minutes to review our iCloud in 1Password 5 FAQ.

You'll especially want to pay attention to the notice right at the top, which I'll quote here:

Note for early adopters (September 17, 2014): In 1Password 5, iCloud sync requires iOS 8 and OS X 10.10 (Yosemite). Because Yosemite has not yet been released, it is currently not possible to sync iOS 8 devices with Macs using iCloud.

If you absolutely need to sync with a Mac over iCloud, we recommend waiting for Yosemite to come out before upgrading to iOS 8 and 1Password 5.

If you have already upgraded your iOS device, one option is to simply go without syncing for a few weeks. Leave iCloud enabled on all devices. You can continue using 1Password on your devices as you would normally, and, when you update your Mac, your devices will once again resume syncing automatically.

Alternatively, you can choose to switch to a different sync method (Dropbox or Wi-Fi). We have more information about how to do that at the bottom of this FAQ. Read on—and thanks for being patient with us during this big transition!

The rest of the FAQ is well worth reading, too. There are some significant changes to the way iCloud works in 1Password 5. In the long run, they're changes for the better, but we don't want anyone to be surprised by them. So please be sure to read the FAQ, and please let us know here in the forums or via email if you have any questions we haven't answered.
