Wrong prompt for password saving on ldlc.com

Options

Hi,
on this website http://www.ldlc.com/ when doing a search, if I confirm the search with return key, 1Password will prompt to save a new login/password. It doesn't happens when clicking on the search button.
The same bug was reported last year the discussion is closed but obviously it is not fixed

What version of which browser are you using @kpouer‌, and which version of the 1Password extension is installed in that browser?

  • Thank you for taking the time to report this issue, @kpouer.

I was not able to recreate the issue directly as you described, but I think I know what is happening. At the top left of the LDLC page there is a hidden login form that only appears when you mouse over the Se connecter link, as shown here:

This password field is automatically pre-populated with the value Votre mot de passe, which 1Password doesn't have saved within it (nor should it!).

Often this is not a problem as we do further analysis to avoid issues like this, but things are further complicated by the fact that LDLC uses a single form for the entire webpage. In other words, both the login and the search "forms" that you see on this page are in actuality a single HTML form underneath the covers. This tricks 1Password into thinking you are submitting the login "form" when in reality you are submitting the search "form".

This is a tricky thing to avoid. I have a few ideas on how we might be able to workaround the issue, but I will need to play with it and see if it works. For now, I suggest you add http://www.ldlc.com/ to your list of sites to avoid during Autosave as described here:

Thanks again for reporting this issue! Hopefully I can create a better fix soon :)

Since @dteare‌ cross-posted his reply, in the beta forum, I thought I'd note my follow-up here, too.

I just created a Login in the main 1Password program, using fake credentials and http://www.ldlc.com/fiche/PB00129020.html (and the alternate login page, https://secure.ldlc.com/Account/LoginPage.aspx). I also set the Submit option to Never, meaning I'd have to click the "conneccion" button after 1Password filled the form.

Clicking on the either URL in 1Password took me to the corresponding page, but I had to press Ctrl+\ to get 1Password to fill the form.

With the alternative URL, I could've left the Submit option set to If auto-submit is ON.

This was all done with Chrome 39, by the way, with the 4.3.0.7 extension installed.

Sorry for the long time, I forgot that post, in fact it was not about the login on the website, it was when using their search form, 1Password was thinking it was a login to save.
But now it seems they changed the website and it doesn't happens anymore.

    Hi @kpouer,

Thank you for updating us on this, we're glad to hear they've updated their site to improve their Login process.
