How to sync 1password family vault?!

Hello Community:

I checked the FAQ, but I am writing to ask for some clarity.

1) download dropbox for all family computers (PC).

2) download 1password for all family computer

3) each individual now has their own personal dropbox on their desktop

A) put the one item: 1password 2015-02-20 124321 (29 items) agailkeychain.zip into each person's dropbox by uploading it??

my other question is, you know how 1password automatically backups 1password 2015-02-20 124321 (29 items) by
documents>1password>backup>1password 2015-02-20 124321 (29 items)

B) How does the family vault get synced with dropbox, if everyone has their own personal dropbox?

Thank you for reading.

If they all have their own personal vaults then none of them will be synced together.

You need a shared vault, the master password to which is known by all of you. The shared vault could be hosted on any of the Dropbox accounts and shared to the others using Dropbox sharing:

    Hi @throwitaway,

    1) download dropbox for all family computers (PC).

Correct, Dropbox on your PCs will monitor for data changes and sync them.

    2) download 1password for all family computer

Once you open 1Password, it'll ask for one of these questions:

    1. if you're a new 1Password user, which means a new but unique data file
    2. if you're an existing user, which means you can reuse the previous 1Password data folder or select someone's existing data folder

    3) each individual now has their own personal dropbox on their desktop

That is assuming they are signing into their own Dropbox.com credentials. You can technically sign into the same Dropbox credentials for all PCs but it is recommended that each family member has their own credentials to maintain control of their own data.

If there are files to be shared among the family, you guys can put it in a shared Dropbox folder and invite each member into this folder.

Do not use your backups nor put them on Dropbox in the first place, each PC should have its own set of backups to provide redundancy to your backups.

If you want to share the same data file with everyone, the best way to do this is create a shared Dropbox folder and then move your 1Password data file into that shared folder.
