I have the same problem and I looked at the guide. Unfortunately, I can't grab the key because the key doesn't exit there. I'm working with Mac, Firefox 41.0.2 and 1Password 3.8.21. When I try to update, 1Password I get an error message stating that an error occurred while extracting the archive.

@reason00: I've split you off into a separate discussion in the 1Password 3 for Mac category, since your issue isn't related to 1Password for Windows.

And I'm sorry for the confusion! The newest versions of Firefox contain substantial changes that break compatibility with the old 1Password, which has not been in active development for just over three years.

You may be able to upgrade to 1Password 4 or 5 (requires Mountain Lion or Yosemite respectively), which use our current extension, and are fully compatible with current browsers. However, this is a paid upgrade if you do not already have a valid 1Password 4/5 license.

Alternatively, you can continue using 1Password 3 with a different browser which is still compatible:

    Firefox ESR 38: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/

    Google Chrome: https://www.google.com/chrome/

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions! :)
