Autofill passwords for apps?

Hi, I am thinking about switching from iPhone 6 to an android phone. One of the issues I have with iPhone is that my apps don't know my passwords and I have to switch back and forth between 1P and the app, cut and paste the username and password. My friend says that LastPass will autofill passwords even on Android Apps without having to switch back and forth. I know 1P makes an Android version, but wondering if it works like LastPass... using an autofill feature. And/or if there is any way to get it to work with the iPhone.

1Password Version: current
Extension Version: current on iphone
OS Version: iOS9
Sync Type: dropbox

  • Hello! :)

1Password for Android allows automatic filling in external apps and browsers using the 1Password Keyboard, in combination with 1Password’s filling service. It can be used from almost everywhere in the OS! To learn more about this feature on Android, be sure to check out our guide:

1Password for iOS offers an extension that allows similar functionalities but it’s not available everywhere in the OS. You can use the extension to fill in Safari, and other participating apps. It works really well, and I would highly recommend enabling it, if you haven’t done so already:

Let me know if you have any other questions or if you need help with getting the extension working!

Hi, i already had 1P enabled. Doesn't seem to work on many apps... on iPhone

  • This will only work with participating apps as it requires app developers to enable the extension. The full list of apps that support the 1Password extension can be found here: https://blog.agilebits.com/1password-apps/

With that said, be sure to let your favourite developers know if you like to see 1Password extension support in their apps. :)

You have an android list too?

  • Hey @jefferis. 1Password 4 for Android uses a custom keyboard and accessibility service for filling, rather than the extension that's used on iOS. This means that we don't need apps to incorporate an app extension on Android, so there is no list.

Instead, 1Password on Android will detect the login based on the package URL for the app, and then you'll be able to fill in your credentials automatically. Here's a little more about it if you'd like to take a look:
    https://support.1password.com/guides/android/filling.html

I hope that clarifies it a bit! Let us know if you have more questions. Thanks!
