How to disable "Automatically check for updates" during deployments?

We deploy 1Password via Microsoft SCCM 2012 to locked down desktops with no local admin privileges. The user cannot update 1Password but gets notifications about new versions. They can disable the notifications by changing the preferences, but is there any way using the installer to specify the default of no checks?

  • Hi @Matthew_Huff,

You can deploy a registry tweak to disallow the auto-update, the one you want is: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\AgileBits\1Password 4\"AutoUpdate"=dword:0

If you want to find more registry tweaks, here's what you can do; make the changes you want in the preferences of 1Password and then go to the Help Menu > Diagnostics Report > Export to File. Extract this zip file and view the 1Password.settings.txt file to find the registry information.

    I hope this helps.
