Just found out that this is still not working. As we are evaluating to migrate alot of http auths for our IT this is not feasable :-/ Maybe you should look at https://github.com/pfn/passifox/tree/master/chromeipass

it's the KeyPass implementation and it works flawlessly for chrome and basic http auth.

+1 I'm a web dev. and http basic auth is always used on the staging server to protect it from prying eyes and google indexing.

You guys are being trampled by LastPass in terms of feature set (this is just one example). The main reason I'm still with 1Pass is your superior UX. However, UX is the easiest thing to improve. If LastPass hires some UX designers and let them make the needed changes, that will be the final nail in your coffin. You'd best be paying attention to major feature gaps like this. (Frankly, I'd even call this a "bug" given how it's a hole smack in the middle of the whole purpose your product.)

Also, I get the benefit of not revealing roadmaps ahead of time. However when you have customers questioning their loyalty (as in this thread) on the basis of missing features that competitors have, giving some idea of your priorities may buy you some time. At this point nobody knows whether this is something we can hold our breath a few months for, or if we have to wait a few years. That's a major problem.

just a tidbit. LassPass uses scriptable Accessibility to fill in the Basic HTTP Authentication pane. an internet browser app with access to Accessibility allowing it to remote-control everything on my Mac? mmm... no thank you.

    From LastPass's support page:
In OS X 10.9 + by going to Apple > System Preferences > Security & Privacy and making sure any of the following that appear are checked under "Allow the apps below to control your computer":
    Chromium
    Google Chrome
    Google Chrome Canary
    nplastpass

@bulbuls Roboform does basic auth in all browsers and they don't require the setting you describe from LastPass' implementation. It's just really mind boggling AgileBits won't take the time to please their customers by either getting it done or providing an ETA. :(

@vithun AgileBits Staff knows, but our bug/improvement/feature request system is completely internal.

so, this thread has been running since 2014, other since 2013. What about this feature? Does it make sense to write "+1" anyway?

This thread is now 8 months old. But there still seems to be no progress. AgileBits staff is counting up votes but there is still no remark wether they're even considering the implementation of that feature. This keeps me from switching back from LastPass to 1Password.
So please add my +1 to the stockpile.

+1, need this dearly, it's keeping me anchored to built-in-browser password saving (which I hate).

This is a very basic feature that's missing. I'm also a developer and I want to get rid of copy and pasting the passwords all the time.
