The most efficient way of entering login details appears to be by using the keyboard 'command-/ '

Could you not provide a toolbar button to click that will provide the same input thus avoiding the need to use the keyboard?

The main concern is that people will come out of the woodwork to request that all the other features get dedicated toolbar buttons...and that could get out of hand pretty quickly! ;)

    All of the features are available from the 1Password toolbar button. We are working on adding right-click contextual menus. Would that help?
