Attachment to an Identity is blank. Deleting it moves Identity to trash.
I attached a photo to an Identity. Today, I tried to open the attachment and it said the attachment was blank. I was able to attach the photo again, with the same filename.
When I try to delete the blank attachment, the whole Identity goes in the Trash.

OS Version: OS X 10.11.4

When you delete the blank attachment, do you delete it by clicking the small red minus button in the detail view?

Now I did, and it works.
My brain fart was to drag the attachment to the "Move to Trash" button.
Apparently any action on that button moves the file to the trash.0 -
