Sync between iOS and Android?

Have the issues of the past with iOS and Android using different encryption or file formats been addressed to make it easy to sync between iOS and Android? I have friends I'd like to recommend 1Password to, but they have both Android and iOS in the family and it needs to be EASY for them to use.

  • Hi @CaptKirk,

Thanks for taking the time to write in.

The answer is yes, on two counts.

    1. Both our Android and iOS apps support 1Password for Families, which is a hosted subscription service that allows families to easily store and sync their 1Password data. There is no need to configure a 3rd party sync service: simply sign into your 1Password Account and you're ready to rock and roll.

    2. If using the apps standalone, that'll work too, both Android and iOS now support our more modern OPVault format so that they can sync via Dropbox.

    I hope that helps!
