Safari Extension: sort order incorrect

I have multiple Google accounts stored in 1P. All are titled "Google - XXXXX". One of the accounts is a Favorite.

When using the Safari Extension, the Favorite account does not always float to the top. Often is it even hidden under the "More" button.

This typically happens when I am logged out of Google (not sure if that actually makes a difference, though), rather than just viewing the extension while logged in.

Any ideas how to fix this? Or do we need more info?

Thanks!

    Hi @LKlieger

I'm sorry to hear that 1Password is doing some weird things. If you have saved the accounts under slightly different addresses then the one that you'll see is the one that matches best to the site where you are. For example, I have 2 good accounts. For one of them I was careful and made sure to save things cleanly, so the site is: https://mail.google.com/
For the other one I was in a rush and wanted it saved however, so the address is: https://accounts.google.com/SignUp?service=mail&continue=http://mail.google.com/mail/?pc=topnav-about-en

This affects which of them I see first, and I think you might have a similar problem. I would recommend you to check that and save your logins again, all with the same sign in address so 1Password will not try to give the most accurate item.

Please let us know if you try changing this, and if it lets you have your accounts properly sorted out :chuffed:

    Hi @Pilar -

That might have been the cause! I've updated all to use a simple "google.com", and at first glance it works correctly.

If I eventually notice it's not working right, I'll report back.

    Thanks!

On behalf of Pilar, you're very welcome!

In case it helps, another option would be to open 1Password, go to 1Password > Preferences > Browsers, and enable the option for 'Allow filling on pages that closely match saved websites'. When that's enabled, the 1Password extension / 1Password mini will show matching Login items based only on the domain (google.com) and ignore the subdomain. Favorites will be listed at the top, and the rest will be in alphabetical order by title.

If you've already updated the website fields in those Login items so they all match, no problem - that'll work too! I just wanted to let you know about that setting in case it helps in the future.

We're here for you if you need more help or have any questions! :)

    @Drew_AG Good to know, thanks!

Is there a similar preference on iOS?

  • Unfortunately not on iOS at the moment, no. Perhaps something we can address in the future. :)
