Licence info for wrong system

edited October 2016 in Purchasing

I have been using 1Password on my Mac for several years.
To-day I upgraded from version 3 to version 6.3.3
I then asked for the licence info to be sent to me.
The the email has two section
(1) 1Password6 for Mac - There is no licence info, only this sentence
Click here to Apply Your 1Password License
(2) 1Password for Windows - There is a key
1PWB-[removed by AgileBits]

What is going on here?
Will the Windows key work for me?
[I have been using Macintosh computers since 1985. I have never owned nor used a Windows machine.]

    Hi @amaloney,

Sorry for any confusion about your license information! Starting earlier this year, when you purchase (or upgrade) a license from the AgileBits Store, it includes licenses for both the Mac and Windows versions of 1Password. In your license information, the code that starts with "1PWB" is your license key for 1Password 4 for Windows. If you don't use Windows at all, feel free to ignore that part of your license information. ;)

I hope that helps to clear things up, but we're here for you if you have more questions! :)

    Thanks for your prompt reply.
Is there a comparable licence key for 1Password 6 for Mac?
If so, is it stored on my computer?

There is not. 1Password for Mac does not use a license key. It uses a license file, instead. Clicking on the link in question in the email will download the license file to your Mac.

    @amaloney,

After you download the license file you'll want to double click it so that 1Password becomes licensed.

Let us know if you run into any other issues.
