Since I updated 1p4, I've been getting these prompts on startup:

I did a google search and someone in superuser discussion comments thought that 1p was the culprit. I ran the test cipher /u /n in an elevated command prompt and the first file that came up in the list:

C:\Users\..........\AppData\Local\AgileBits\OPX4.auth

My questions to you are:

1) is the OPX4.auth file necessary? what does it do?
Can it be deleted?
2) any way to suppress this EFS prompt permanently?

This was like 3-4 hours of my life i will not get back :( It was so painful because I initially thought it was a virus trying to trick me.

@4EverMaAT: I'm really sorry for the confusion! This is part of the mutual authentication 1Password does with the browser extension to prevent something malicious from trying to send and receive data. The OPX4.auth is the shared secret stored when you authorize the connection. It can be deleted, but when it is you'll need to reauthorize it each time. The EFS prompt is from Windows. As far as I know, it can be dismissed simply by backing up the keys like it is asking you to. I haven't had it reappear since doing that initially. I hope this helps!

That should do the trick, but be sure to reach out if you have any other questions. Cheers! :)
