Old Version Application
MacAir upgrading from El Capitan to Sierra. Doing clean-up first!!!!
I am running 1Password 6 Version 6.5.1 (651005).
I found 1Password 5 in my application folder. Is it safe to delete this and all files associated with this older version using AppCleaner.

No! Don't use any app cleaner app: it will almost certainly remove data and other files that 1Password needs. Simply drag the 1Password 5 app file to the trash.

I'm glad Stephen's answer was helpful for you! Indeed, 1Password 5 and 6 use the same files/folders on your Mac, so removing the associated files would remove your data from both versions.
