if I open 1Password on a public wifi, can the app be hacked and data stolen?

  • Hi @lescovorro,

    The short answer is no.

But we'd always recommend using a VPN when connecting to public WiFi, or better yet, not connecting to public WiFi. :) There are a number of providers that offer VPN service.

The concern when connected to public WiFi isn't so much about 1Password, but about the sites you visit. It'll be possible for anyone else connected to that network to see what sites you're visiting, and if the site doesn't use SSL (HTTPS) it may also be possible for them to intercept any credentials that you've filled into those sites using 1Password.

I hope that helps. Should you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.

    Ben
