iPhone7plus doesn't like master password

Hi! I have just purchased an iPhone 7 Plus and cannot access one password as I keep getting the message to 'please try again' each time I enter my master password ( I have checked which keys are coming up as I type on the phone's keyboard). I have no problems logging in on my mac. Any tips please?
