Could we have a link between the 1password.com site and this support Forum?

Two things:

  1. Could we please have a link between the 1password.com site and this support Forum?
  • I find that there is a real disconnect between the two sites and there does not seem to be any seamless ways to get between the two sites, or even why there are two different sites.
  • I go to the 1Password.com site and into the Support section to come here, and then frustratingly remember and have to type discussion.agilebits.com to get here.
  1. Also on the 1Password.com site, why are the download links not easy to find off the 1Password.com home page? I have to scroll down to the bottom for this tiny link to go to (https://1password.com/downloads/ or click into Support to get the link. It should be one of the main navigation items.

    Hi @skippingrock,

Thanks for your feedback and questions!

Could we please have a link between the 1password.com site and this support Forum?

You'll be happy to know that we already have a direct link to our support forum on 1Password.com (as well as on agilebits.com, support.1password.com, and other pages of our site). You can find it at the bottom of the page in the 'Support' section:

...or even why there are two different sites.

Hmm, I'm not quite sure what you mean. The main 1password.com page is about 1Password in general. For customers who need help with 1Password, we have a support site with various options (this support forum is one of those options). Can you elaborate on what you'd like to see instead?

I go to the 1Password.com site and into the Support section to come here, and then frustratingly remember and have to type discussion.agilebits.com to get here.

I don't understand - if you come to these forums from the support section of 1Password.com, why would you need to also type the URL manually into the address bar? I may have misunderstood what you meant.

As I mentioned above, you can find a direct link to our support forum at the bottom of our main site and support site, but if you'd like to make it even easier to find your way here, you can save a bookmark in your web browser. Or if you've saved a Login item for our forums, you can use that.

Also on the 1Password.com site, why are the download links not easy to find off the 1Password.com home page?

I can certainly forward your feedback to our web team. :)

    Hi @Drew_AG ,
I did a little sleuthing, it turns out I was talking about comparing Apples to old apples.
    on this page: https://support.1password.com
The link to the forum is buried down at the bottom of the screen or in the difficult to read "Can't find the answer to your question?" box, which is also below the fold.

Unlike an older version of the page where the link is above the fold and easier to get to "Want to talk? Visit our discussion forum.":
    https://web.archive.org/web/20150402001044/https://support.1password.com/

This was much easer to get to an was there between November 2012 but removed earlier last year for some reason and demoted downward.

Was the design decision to purposely hide or make the discussion groups harder to find? To make people use the Articles first?

Yes. :) The support guides address the vast majority of problems customers experience, and so in order to have quick response times for folks who cannot resolve their issue by following a support guide we need to strongly encourage folks to read the guides first before contacting us.

    Thanks for the feedback!

    Ben
