There are clearly specific sequence/steps to use Chrome extension with multiple personas. They are spread over many forum posts. Many of the posts are out of date. Could an expert update the steps.

Thanks.

My specific experience:
New Install. Specifically local data was empty. Fresh login.

Install Chrome extension under Work User.

  • Close Chrome.
Chrome continues to "run" as an application chewing up memory and CPU although it is not available as an application in Windows 10.

"End" Chrome process using Windows task manager,
Receive 1password error message that the chrome extension has crashed.

The 1password extension never worked. Clicking on the icon produced nothing.
Chrome Version 58.0.3029.110 (64-bit).

No problems in Firefox.

  • Hi @SamLabrador,

Thanks for writing in. I'd like to ask you to create a diagnostics report from your Windows PC:

    Sending Diagnostics Reports (Windows)

Attach the diagnostics to an email message addressed to support+forum@agilebits.com.

    With your email please include:

    • A link to this thread: https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/79111/chrome-extension-with-multiple-personas-users-profiles-crashing
    • Your forum username: SamLabrador

That way we can "connect the dots" when we see your diagnostics in our inbox.

You should receive an automated reply from our BitBot assistant with a Support ID number.  Please post that number here so we can track down the diagnostics and ensure that this issue is dealt with quickly. :)

Once we see the diagnostics we'll be able to better assist you. Thanks very much!

    Alex

We sent in the original diagnostic report. After two days of no response we uninstalled all chrome extensions because Chrome became so unstable. Specifically chrome continued to "run" after the browser was "closed." The only way to stop this was though Task Manager. After ending the process, we received the "1password extension has crashed." We received a request for yet another diagnostic but by then the Chrome extensions were gone.

Using 1password with personas or multiple users can crash Chrome. It is not resolved.

@SamLabrador: Ah, thanks for letting us know you sent it. You didn't provide the Support ID that Alex asked for, but I see he was able to track down your message and get back to you. We'll continue the conversation there to avoid confusing back and forth.
