Request to change how updating tags also changes the Last Modified date

I wish to use tags primarily as metadata about content, to more closely match the behaviour of tags in the macOS file system and elsewhere, e.g., when I add a "finances" tag to a budget spreadsheet I created last week, the macOS Modified Date remains unchanged.

Unfortunately, adding, updating or removing tags in 1P also changes the last modified date for that item, removing my ability to know when the content — whether login, secure note, etc. — was genuinely last changed.

This issue was made most evident (and painful) by the fact I applied a "review" tag on all my 1P items one day, with the intent of removing the tags as I worked through each one over time. Now all my 1P items share the same "last modified date".

Sigh.

Thankfully, I can still see previously used passwords for Logins, but this applies (1) only to Logins and (2) requires an extra user action to view, rather than a quick glance.

    Hi @mike1pass,

Thank you for taking the time to send us your request! Although updating an item's modified date when adding/removing tags is intentional behavior in 1Password, I can see how that might be unexpected if you're used to the way it works in the Finder. I don't think our developers have plans to change the way that works right now, but perhaps it's something they can consider in the future.

Thanks again, we appreciate your feedback about that! If you need anything else, please don't hesitate to let us know. Cheers! :)
