Hi,

When I try to use 1password by clicking the (top right) 1password icon in a fully updated Google Chrome Browser
:= Google Chrome is up to date Version 61.0.3163.91 (Official Build) (64-bit).

I keep being shown:

Looking for the 1Password helper

**The 1Password helper must be running for the extension to work properly.

Couldn’t connect to 1Password**

Please help as I'm desperate to start using 1password!!! :'(

1Password Version: 1Password 6
Extension Version: 4.6.11.91
OS Version: windows10
Sync Type: not sure

New user as well. When I got that message it meant I had not installed the app on my desktop... needs both. And btw, your secret key is Uber important. Save it, print it out, put it in a shoebox, somewhere. No secret key, no access. Ever.

  • @drs1972: I was actually testing some stuff out with free Avast earlier this week and didn't get any helper connection issues, so unless they've updated since then and broken things, I don't think Avast is likely the problem. Could you check that the options Enable Native Messaging in Chrome and Firefox are both checked in the main app? They can be found in Settings (cog wheel) > Options > Advanced. If not, check those boxes, restart Chrome and give it another try. Let us know what you find out. :chuffed:
