Can one unlock or sign out of the 1Password Desktop app besides putting in the password?

I work with a Window's computer and use the Desktop app. Is there a way to unlock or sign out of the 1Password desktop app besides putting in the password?

  • @ipsreceptionist: You can only unlock by entering your Master Password and you need to unlock to sign out of your account. Is there a reason you need to be signing out of your account with any regularity? Are there multiple people who use this PC with different accounts, by chance?

Yes! I work at a business where multiple people work at the same computer at different times during the day. We have a couple computers in this predicament where we don't know who logged in last, and so we can't unlock them.

  • Hi @ipsreceptionist,

Unfortunately, 1Password does not support switching "profiles" in the same Windows account. You would have to switch multiple Windows accounts to have a unique 1Password database. This is also recommended for security reasons, each user should be using their own standard user account to isolate the potential security issues.
