It seems like google has plans to shut down all chrome apps and extensions for Windows, Mac and Linux. Given that 1Password is a Chrome extension what are the plans for browser integration going forward?

    Extensions are not shutting down.

Only Chrome Apps that act like full fledged desktop apps (packaged apps) and apps that are simply a fancy bookmark to a web app (hosted apps) are being shutdown for Windows/Mac/Linux. Chrome Apps will continue to be available for Chrome OS for the foreseeable future.

May I ask you where you got this ridiculous news from?

Next time, get your info from the source (i.e. Google) before you spread misinformation.

  • Hi @DaveFl,

Thanks for writing in. There seems to be some misunderstanding as Google is only removing support for the underutilized Chrome Apps feature, which is not the same thing as Chrome Extensions.

1Password is a Chrome extension, it will not be affected by this.
