loaded app onto new iPhone 7plus and connected ewith Dropbox vault. it asks me for an account, which I cant find. will it still work? The connection between account, license, and the IOS app is confusing.

is the IOS app supposed to show up when you log into other apps?

  • @patrise,

There are two ways to purchase 1Password, an Account or a License.

Accounts are something new, its a paid subscription service that includes all the current and future versions of the native apps (Mac, Windows, iOS and Android), web access via 1Password.com and automatic sync of your data between your devices. iOS and Android Pro Features are included as part of the account and do not need to be purchased separately.

Licenses only apply to the Mac and Windows versions and it gives you access to standalone vaults and sync via Dropbox, iCloud and WLAN Server. A license is only valid for a particular major version of 1Password, in this case its valid for version 6. When version 7 is released you purchase a new license for version 7. In the context of iOS and Android you don't have a license, but to enable more advanced features you would purchase an In App Purchase of Pro features.

If you're operating under the licenses model of purchase then you don't have an account or secret key, you will need to pick one of the options under "already using 1Password" in order to set it up that way, otherwise you're more than welcome to try out a 1Password.com subscription trial to see if it meets your needs, available at https://1password.com/sign-up/

If you have any other questions let us know.
