Password generator only uses numbers and symbols when generating passwords below 20 characters. If you try to generate a password with 10 characters or below only numbers are used. Please see example, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2uqbi6i2cE (sorry for the bad quality) It seems that this issue has surfaced in the past, see https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/48163/password-generator-only-using-numbers-and-symbols-no-letters.

Welcome to the forum, @moffe42! Thanks for taking the time to do such a thorough bug-report for us, even including a video (not to mention a search of the archives!).

The reason you're getting that result is that there are sliders for numerals and symbols in the 1Password for Mac password generator. Your password for any given site or item will be however many characters long you specify, but you can also adjust the number of symbols and numerals used (in addition to upper and lower case letters), using separate sliders, from 0 to 10. So, if you've got both the numeral slider and the symbol slider maxed out at ten, then anything 20 characters total or below will be filled with only numerals and symbols...because that's what you told 1Password to do. :)

Just adjust those separate sliders until you get a recipe that suits your needs for a given site, and you should be all set!
