1Password 6 desktop app doesn't setup

I created a trial account and imported my passwords from LastPass from the web browser. When I install the desktop client (v6) and start the app it immediately shows the Unlock screen - no setup and login information at all. I type in my master password and the lock "fails". I completely uninstalled all 1password components and tried again, same result. When I try and install 1Password v6 on my windows laptop (a different machine) it works just fine. ???

    If you can sign in to your new account at 1Password.com in the browser, please try to follow the steps here to start over with 1Password 6 app on your PC and sign in to your account anew.
