Updating older version 4.4.2 to current one 6.8.8 do I need to do anything special

Hi, I finally updated my iMac to High Sierra 10.13.3 from Mavericks. I have a really old 1Password on the computer 4.42 and would like to update to 6.8.8 without losing data etc., Purchased 4.1.2 2.9.2013 thru itunes the Apple store. We have been using it on our phones and iPads I don’t know if those are a different version? I looked on the desktop of the older version of 1 password and it seems to have everything in it after the update.

Your help would be most appreciated!
Thanks

@daisy87: Thanks for reaching out. Glad you've updated to High Sierra! While 1Password 6 is a free upgrade if you purchase 1Password for Mac version 4, you may run into trouble with the updater since a lot has changed in the intervening years. Just follow these steps to get up to date:

    1. Drag the 1Password app to the Trash — your data is stored separately, but DO NOT use a "cleaner" app as that may delete it
    2. Restart your Mac
    3. Install the latest version of 1Password: https://1password.com/downloads/
    4. And make sure you get the extension too: https://agilebits.com/onepassword/extensions

I hope this helps. Be sure to let me know if you have any other questions! :)
