I tried to create a new vault named Archives and I got a warning that the vault name/description (I had nodescription) was too long…
Something must be wrong there.

@cortig - what kind of setup do you have? Are you using 1Password only in standalone mode, only 1password.com account(s), or both? And what type of vault did you try to create? Standalone or in a 1password.com account?

I was not able to reproduce this issue. OPM 7 beta 1 created an "Archives" vault just fine for me. Could you please check the account that you were trying to create this vault in to be sure that you have the ability to create new vaults? Are you able to create the vault from the web interface?

I have a standalone version. I'm not using 1password.com (so I can't check on the Web interface)
I was trying to create an "On my Mac" new vault.
I would have created it directly on Dropbox, but apparently that was not an option.

I figured it out by attempting the same thing in 1Password 6.
I had not entered a hint. In 1Password 6 I got a warning telling me to enter a hint.
In version 7, I tried again and this time I entered a hint and it worked just fine.

It looks to me like the wording of the warning is wrong: it should tell me I must have a hint instead.

Agreed. That seems like a bug. I'll file an issue. Thanks.

Just to clarify - you mean a description? You had to enter a description in order to proceed?

Nope @Ben, a hint (last field on the bottom).

    To illustrate the issue.
Here's what I see in 1P7 if I try to save without entering a hint:

    And now in 1Password 6:
