App Store update bug

I am attempting to update 1Password 7 for OS X on the Mac App store. The update is offered but when I click the icon, I get an error window that says 1Password must we quit in order for the update to take place. 1Password is not open and the error window offers to quit it if I click "Continue". However, when I do that, the update does not occur. Instead, I get the same error popup offering to quit the program, which is not open. The update is not offered on the Agile Bits site. What do you suggest?

1Password Version: 7.0.4
Extension Version: 4.7.2.90
OS Version: 10.13.6
Sync Type: iCloud

@Arkay this problem has been widely discussed on the forum and AgileBits is trying to see if there is a fix for it. For the time being you need to press control + option + command + Q to quit 1Password completely—when you should find the App Store update will work.

  • Hi @Arkay ,

Another way to do it is to hold down the option key and click in the 1Password icon in the menu bar and choose "Quit 1Password Completely".

    Cheers,
    Kevin
