Access to vaults if Knox stops working?

Michael RMichael R Junior Member

I love Knox and would like to continue using it even though it hasn't been updated in a long time. I don't think I am taking any additional risk of losing access to my data if Knox stops working, but wanted to get confirmation from the AgileBits team so I am posting here. I'm not looking for any guarantees, just advice.

As far as I understand, Knox uses MacOS sparsebundle at it's core and I can mount the images without using Knox. I tried and was able to open my vaults by right clicking and choosing open with DiskImageMounter. Is this native MacOS? If not, how would I do this with native MacOS tools?

    @Michael R,

    DiskImageMounter is part of macOS, its located at /System/Library/CoreServices/ and you're correct that they're standard macOS disk images. So that plan sounds fine to me.

    Still using Knox here too, but it's good to have a backup plan. :) :+1:
