How to completely delete 1password7 (including vault) from MAC after forgetting master password?

Hi Guys,

I was stupid enough to forget my 1password7 password.

Not to worry, I emailed the team and they deleted my account, therefore, enabling me to create a new one. Voila - a shiny new account, I have.

However, herein lies the problem upon trying to make my MAC forget all existence of 1password as somewhere the vault data (non-local) remains.

I've deleted all files from the library which were recommended in the help guide to no avail. Every time I delete the app and the files, after reinstalling it requests my old master password and my old vault key remains in the settings.

Help! Please!

Thanking you great guys in advance.

Mark

  • @markC89,

In 1Password 7.app -> Help -> Troubleshooting -> Reset All 1Password Data should get you into a reset state where you can proceed to set it up fresh.

    Hi Rudy,

Thanks for the advice. However, in the meantime I've figured it out.

There were still some AgileBites files hovering around in the registry/library.

    Best,
    Mark
