Vulnerable Passwords Toggle

I enabled "Watchtower\Vulnerable Passwords" to check same. I'm not seeing a way to now toggle off this action. Is that possible? If not, what does this mean? Are my passwords being checked continuously & not just when I choose to have that happen? Thanks

  • Hi @55208wcgk,

    Thanks for writing in.

You can turn it off or on anytime you want via 1Password menu > Settings > Watchtower.

You can learn more about how 1Password is protecting your privacy here: https://support.1password.com/watchtower/

We do not transmit your data anywhere, what we do is create a hash of your password locally, grab the first 5 character and then call the service to return a list of the same 5 first characters and then we check that list locally to see if your password matches. If yes, we then mark it as vulnerable in your 1Password database.
