Sometimes Grey Touch Bar

Can you help me understand why the touch bar button for the TouchID fingerprint scanner is sometimes greyed out? I can't seem to detect a pattern or reason for this behavior.

If I click the touchID button in the app, using my mouse, it activates the TouchID sensor just fine.

    @thenoid: Thanks for getting in touch. Can you tell me what is focused exactly when you encounter that issue? Is 1Password focused, and, if so, what part of it? Is there maybe a connection with how you're invoking it (keyboard, mouse, in the browser, from the menu bar, etc.)? Thanks in advance!
