Agilebits forum does not play nicely with 1Password

Today I logged into the Agilebits forum page. Straight after logging in I got a dialogue box from 1Password offering to save my password. Of course I said, "save it". I logged out so that I could test. 1Password failed and was unable to login.

The problem seems to have been caused by the floating dialogue that the AgileBits forum generates when you wish to login. Here's the URL that 1Password automatically stored with my login credentials:

This is what I had to manually set the URL to in order to get a successful automated login using 1Password:

It would create a better impression if the forum integrated better with the 1Password software.

  • Thanks for the feedback, @KevinSmith! Unfortunately we don't write the forum software that we're using here, so we can't really change the behavior there. As for saving logins accurately in 1Password, our recommended procedure (especially for any "tricky" sites) is:

    • Navigate to the login page in question using your web browser of choice.
    • Enter your username, password, and any other required fields if applicable (security code, PIN, etc), but DO NOT submit the form.
    • Click the 1Password button in your browser's toolbar, and select the vault button in the upper right hand corner.
    • Click the “Save new login” option, and then change the title (if desired).
    • Click the Save button.

A lot of the problems we see folks having with logins is because they save their login info from a registration page, or other page besides the login page.

    Thanks B.

The incompatibility is more understandable now that I know you're using 3rd party software for the forum.
