Similar to the thread with a similar title, after upgrading to b15 and hoping it would fix this issue, I followed the advice in the other thread and deleted by data and settings. When I went back in to re-establish my vault through Dropbox sync, it hangs after typing in my master password and never goes anywhere. Just stays stuck on Authenticating...

    Hi @kprogebin‌,

Is this the thread you're referring to?

As for the authenticating issue, can you kill the 1Password app in the background and then restart 1Password, does it now let you unlock right away?

    Hi @MikeT‌,

That is the thread I am referring to, yes.

As for the authenticating issue, I have killed the 1Password app and restarted the iPhone with no results. When I reopen the app, it gives me the "Are you a new user or have you used 1Password before?" screen. If I tap on I am a user, I go through the setup process and get stuck on Authenticating... If I tap off of the box with the question, I get the Master Password entry section, but get the same Authenticating... issue when logging in. Thanks for taking a look.

I have experienced the exact same authentication issue and I even tried deleting and re-downloading the app. I recorded the setup process.

Also, after choosing that "I've used 1Password" before and choosing sync with Dropbox - it takes me to the Dropbox app to ALLOW it access, then back to the Master password screen as can be seen in that video above..... if I type in my master password it just sits on this screen saying "Authenticating" and doesn't do anything :(

That is it exactly. My issue is identical. Thanks for the great demo and recording @tommyang‌

I'm having the same issue. Says authenticating and never opens.

Reproducible on iPhone 5c running iOS 8 (12A4345d)

I'm stuck at the lock screen "Authenticating…" after syncing with Dropbox from a fresh install.

It's stuck on that final screen, #6

    Hi guys!

I can reproduce the problem, it is not supposed to ask you for the master password in the first place. There is no vault since you weren't taken back to the Dropbox sync to select a vault to download first.

We'll get this fixed in the next beta ASAP!

In the meantime, here's how to work around the problem:

    1. Reinstall the app, select I'm new to 1Password, go through the setup and enter the same master password as the vault you're about to sync with
    2. When at the end of the setup, do not sync with Dropbox just yet, skip that part, and you'll be taken to the unlocked 1Password app with an empty vault
    3. Now, go to Settings > Sync to select Dropbox, it'll take you to Dropbox, authenticate it, and then go back to Settings > Sync to tap on your Dropbox account to select the vault you want to sync with.

    @MikeT‌

Your workaround was right on and has me back in business. Thanks very much and I look forward to the next beta.

Great support as always from AgileBits!

I was able to get mine to work by downloading the previous beta then after completing the dropbox setup, update to the latest beta. I was able to do it since I had the email for beta 14 saved.

  • Hi guys,

That's great, thanks for letting us know!

@iWilliamsJ, that'd work as well. Thanks for sharing it with us!
