Hey all,

there are a lot of threads about synching multiple vaults using Dropbox. Please clarify.

Every vault needs a unique name
Every vault should be in a separate folder

Correct?

    Hi @thomas55218‌

Thanks for taking the time to write in to us about 1Password! I'd be happy to help you with your questions.

Every vault needs a unique name

Each vault will have the name that you create for it when you set up the vault, except the primary vault, which is always called 1Password.agilekeychain. The name of your secondary vault will make up the filename of the keychain: 'vaultname'.agilekeychain, so it's a good idea use a unique name for each vault you create.

Every vault should be in a separate folder

This is a good idea, particularly if you are sharing these vaults with users who have separate Dropbox accounts. When sharing a keychain between Dropbox accounts, you'll want to share the folder that the keychain is in, rather than the keychain itself.

However, if you are the only one accessing these vaults, you could store all your vaults directly inside the /1Password folder in your Dropbox account if you prefer.

I hope this helps, but if you have any further questions, we're here to help!
