Lost Password _ Uninstall and reinstall?

I gave this as a gift to my mother who promptly set up and forgot her password. I understand there is no reset for this but can i uninstall and reinstall to set up new account or something. I tried what i thought would work; deleted app, re downloaded and installed but it still asks for the same password. help
