Cannot copy/paste into other apps (Samsung GALAXY Note 10.1 2014)

I cannot copy/paste a password into an app on my Galaxy Note 2014. I can see a notification that says "Copied Password to clipboard" when I copy something, but then there is nothing to paste when I try to do so (either in an app, or even within 1PASSWORD itself).

AgileBits' support has been advised but they haven't got a solution yet. They suggested posting on the forum to see if other users are affected and/or if someone has found a workaround.

    Can you copy and paste from somewhere else? Copy and paste a random bit of text from the webpage for example.

    If it still won't paste then the app is actively preventing paste functionality.
    If that does work, then can the password copied from 1Password be pasted elsewhere?

    @RichardPayne: Thanks for your suggestions.

    I can paste to and from other apps (e.g. from a browser to email), but I can't copy the password from 1Password and paste it anywhere (either within 1Password or into another app).

    Take a look at the 1Password settings screen. There are some options to clear the clipboard. Try turning them all off and see if the problem persists.

    It was set to "After 3 min of copying value to clipboard". I changed it to "Never", but it still doesn't work.

    ok, it's been a while since I had a Samsung but, if I remember correctly, they have a custom clipboard manager. Is it possible to disable it?

    I don't know if it's possible to disable it. I did a number of Google searches on this topic but couldn't find anything really relevant. Having said that, I'm definitely not an Android specialist (far from it), so I may be missing something...

    Yeah, me neither. It's my suspicion that this is related to Samsung's software. Hopefully the Agilebits guys have a Note they can test on.

    Maybe it's a blessing in disguise ( especially if yuo are attempting to paste to a browser )lol

  • @StanWiz Thanks for your input. :)

    While we don't support clipboard automation because of the security risks of the clipboard, users should still be able to copy/paste from within the app. Hopefully we'll be able to reproduce this and figure out what's going on soon.

    @peri - I was just wondering if you have had any luck with the above as a few months have passed by? Thanks.

  • Unfortunately, we haven't had much luck with this one. :( No other user has reported experiencing this problem on their device.

    If you would like to help us with investigating into this further, could you perform a factory reset on your device and see if copying from 1Password works with a fresh installation? I know it's a lot to ask for and it's perfectly okay if you don't want to perform a factory reset right now. Let me know what you find out. :)
